Best toys are very simple…

Before I was a parent, I stocked up on toys and baby products whenever I saw a good opportunity. There are guides to baby gear and toys, online places, stores, commercials, craiglists, ebay, books, blogs and more. I remember hearing from my friends that their kids simply preferred to bang on kitchen pots and pans rather than a shiny new drum from a store. Back then, I didn’t quite believe them. Are they saying that just to save money on not buying toys? I thought. That is until I became a mom myself. Now I know that the best toys are the simplest ones, often objects found around our home. Unwinding a toilet paper roll can bring many minutes of joy to a baby. Climbing in and out of a box was another favorite for my toddler daughter. Pots and pans were indeed useful not only for cooking, but occupying my exploring baby too. So case and point, I’ve decided to test the simple toys on our studio visitors.

Tiny 2-week old Elliot was a dream to photograph, slept through for most of our dressing up with cute hats and blanket changes. He was a champ and didn’t fuss at all. Natural model, I say! His parents really liked the sock monkey hat, and so do I!

Baby “A” was one of our Cutest Baby winners and no wonder, just look at all the cuteness. She’s bold, she’s curious, she’s independent and very fun. She’s just a little over a year old and has already been walking for 6 months. I adored her baby rolls and I wanted to record them for her parents because I know all too well how soon kids sprout up and loose those rolls. Squish squish:)

Little miss “H” was one of our Cutest Baby Contest winners so I already had a chance to be smittened with her adorable face and cute personality. Oh the faces she makes! You can get lost in those dark brown eyes. She was shy and cautious at first but when she got the ball, she cracked up with the widest smiles ever. She’s a very fun girl!

Her mommy wanted soft, sweet images of her sweet little girl. I love the pink tutus and the cream blanket they brought it. She reminds me of a little butterfly here.

I heart baby divas. OK she’s not really a diva but look at that face she was giving daddy to indicate she was NOT happy at the moment. And then the sweet angelic smiles as soon as she got the ball back.
