Funky Monkey Photography creates custom portraiture by capturing your children and family’s unique story. Our passion is photographing babies, children and families. Our goal is to provide each of our clients with a comfortable experience and unique, storytelling portraiture. Our focus in on quality over quantity. We are a a boutique style studio that caters to individual needs. We accept only a limited number of clients each year.

The experience

Your session is by an appointment at a location of your choosing: our Madison studio, your home or on-location in Madison, WI. Generally sessions last about 1-1.5 hour. Sessions tend to be relaxed and unrushed, allowing children to play and get to know the photographer. Our goal is for the parents to relax and children to have fun. For newborn sessions, we take the extra time to allow for baby feeding, holding, changing. Newborn sessions generally take place in the comfort of your own home and tend to last a bit longer as we work on baby’s schedule.

Our style
Be prepared for a non-traditional portraits. My goal is to capture a child’s story, not just their perfect smile. My style has been described as contemporary, fun, vibrant, and fresh. The best compliments my clients give me is when they say “You captured my child’s true spirit” when they see their portraits. Do not expect stiff posing, look-in-the-camera and smile type of portraits. I will try to get to know your child, engage in play with them, and draw out their personality.

My favorite way of creating family tales is to get them involved in a family activity. I enjoy catching the inter-relationships, the invisible lines that connect you as a family.

Scheduling

We advice contacting us at least 1-2 months ahead to reserve your desired date especially for Saturday appointments.

Investment

Custom photography is an investment in your future and your children’s future. When people loose their homes due to fire or their catastrophe, they always say their most treasured lost possessions were their photographs.  Everything else can be replaced.  By investing in custom photography, you invest in your family and your future, you create a piece of family history and heirlooms to pass down to future generations.

We encourage you to choose your photographer based on how you like their style and quality.

Since Funky Monkey Photography offers custom portraiture, we ‘d be happy to help you customize your investment to fit your needs.   Our Gift Portraits start at $35 for 5×7″ portraits.

We’d be happy to give you a  custom quote once we find out what your portrait needs are when we plan your session together.

Session Fee

Our Session Fee is $200 for up to 3 immediate family members. $25 for each additional person.

Session fee includes time and creation of your portraits. Travel within Madison is included in the fee, additional travel fee for locations beyond 15 minutes of Madison may apply.  Please note no prints or products are included.
