Hi!

I’m Justyna Nielsen, the owner and photography of Funky Monkey Photography since 2006. My passion is to capture the fleeting magic of childhood. I photograph children ages newborn, babies, toddlers and older as well as their families.

I prefer to document these magical childhood stories in natural settings and using natural light, where the little ones can be their unique selves and have fun. Funky Monkey Photography offer photography sessions in Madison, Wisconsin, and the area including Middleton, Fitchburg, Verona, McFarland, Sun Prairie, DeForest, Waunakee, and more.

10 random facts about me

1. I’m a vanilla ice cream kind of girl.
2. I love squishy toddler arms, baby rolls, dimples, freckles, giggles and belly laughs.
3. I’d like to think that I’m crafty. I used to be a scrapbooker.
4. I get a kick out of kid’s logic, humor and refreshing honesty.
5. Children’s boundless imagination constantly amazes me and is my source of inspiration.
6. In my purse, I can always count on finding crayons, balloons, probably a toy or two. Often in my camera bag too.
7. I find beauty in each child. I will honestly and sincerely ooh and aww over every little face I meet.  I can’t help it.
8. I love being a mommy to 2 girls, currently one baby and one first grader.
   
9. Vibrant colors catch my eye.
10. Sometimes too goofy, I can be a little awkward around adults, I fit in better with the little people. Maybe it’s my wacky sense of humor?

Location

To capture your true story, I like to create a natural and inviting environment where little ones have loads of fun and parents relax . Sessions are available in client’s homes or outdoor locations. I continually scout the local areas for perfect locations and can provide recommendations based on client’s needs and vision. My goal is to collaborate for the most fun and creative photo sessions.
